Mikaela DeRousseau is an embodied carbon and life cycle assessment (LCA) consultant and owner of DeRousseau Consulting. Her expertise includes development of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and LCAs for construction materials, LCA standards, embodied carbon policy, and data analysis. She previously served as Senior Data and Methodology Manager at Building Transparency, where she worked on LCA methodology, EPD data quality, and standards-aligned tools for reducing embodied carbon in construction. Mikaela holds a PhD from the University of Colorado Boulder, where her research focused on life cycle assessment of concrete mixtures and computational optimization of concrete mix designs.
